Greg was the pen name of Belgian comics writer and artist Michel Regnier. He created Achille Talon, a satirical series about a pompous, endlessly talkative bourgeois anti-hero whose arguments with neighbours, employers and strangers turn ordinary situations into dense verbal comedy. Greg also wrote scripts for other major Franco-Belgian series, including several Spirou and Fantasio stories for André Franquin, and created or developed adventure titles such as Bernard Prince and Comanche with artist Hermann. His work therefore ranges from gag strips to full-length action stories, but quick dialogue and strong comic timing remain central. Greg is most relevant to readers of classic Franco-Belgian comics, humorous bande dessinée and European adventure series from the 1960s and 1970s. Read more Less
