Battlefield Earth is a large-scale science-fiction novel set on an Earth conquered by the alien Psychlos, where human survivor Jonnie Goodboy Tyler becomes central to rebellion against them. The ten-volume Mission Earth sequence uses invasion, bureaucracy and political satire across a much longer space-opera story. Earlier works such as Fear and Final Blackout move through horror and military dystopia, while Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health presents the ideas that later developed into Scientology. His catalogue divides between pulp SF and adventure on one side and Dianetics/Scientology-related religious or self-help writing on the other, and those strands are best treated separately.
