ONE writes and draws manga built around absurdly overpowered characters and the emotional problems that power cannot solve. One-Punch Man began as his webcomic about Saitama, a hero who can defeat any opponent with one punch and has become bored by the absence of challenge; the commercial manga version is illustrated by Yusuke Murata. Mob Psycho 100, drawn by ONE himself, follows a quiet schoolboy with enormous psychic abilities who would rather improve as a person than rely on supernatural power. Both series combine action with deadpan comedy and satire of heroic conventions. One-Punch Man is the obvious route for superhero parody and large-scale action, while Mob Psycho 100 places more weight on personal growth, school life and the limits of relying on power.
