Pittacus Lore is the shared pseudonym associated with the Lorien Legacies series, beginning with I Am Number Four. The books follow teenage survivors from the planet Lorien who have been sent to Earth after their world is destroyed by the Mogadorians. Number Four, living under the name John Smith, is one of several young aliens developing powers while being hunted in a sequence determined by protective magic. Later novels bring more of the Loric survivors together and widen the story from hiding and school life into a larger war over Earth. The series is fast-paced and action-led, mixing superhuman abilities, alien mythology and teenage relationships with frequent battles.
