Come with Me follows a widower investigating the unfinished work of his murdered wife, while Black Mouth reunites childhood friends around a sinister figure from their past. December Park is a coming-of-age mystery about disappearances in a suburban community, and Bone White moves into a remote Alaskan setting. Malfi's prose is atmospheric but plot-driven, with character relationships carrying much of the tension.
