Sheena Dempsey writes and illustrates children’s books, with work ranging from picture books to early graphic novels. Pablo and Splash follows two penguins whose attempt to escape the cold sends them through a time machine into a dinosaur-filled adventure, combining science-fiction silliness with fast visual storytelling for younger readers. Dempsey has also illustrated series including Dave Pigeon and Bad Panda, where expressive animals and comic movement are central to the humour. Her own graphic work is energetic, colourful and easy to follow, making it well suited to children moving into longer comics.
