Peter F. Hamilton's Void Trilogy returns to the Commonwealth universe more than a thousand years after the earlier Commonwealth Saga. The Dreaming Void, The Temporal Void and The Evolutionary Void follow a political and religious crisis surrounding the Void, a mysterious region at the centre of the galaxy, while another strand recounts life inside it through Edeard's story. The trilogy forms one continuous narrative and should be read in order. Familiarity with Pandora's Star and Judas Unchained is useful because the setting and several long-lived characters carry over, but the books introduce a new central conflict and mix large-scale space opera with a more fantasy-like internal world.
